Meetings

Texas Society for Circadian Biology and Medicine

Each year since 1994, biological clocks researchers from Texas A&M University and other Texas institutions have convened a meeting of the Texas Society for Biological Clocks and Medicine (TSCBM), formerly known as the Southeastern and Central Texas Society for Clocks (SECTS for Clocks). The conference fosters interaction and collaboration on biological clocks by providing a forum for laboratories to present their most recent or in-progress research findings, and for new scientists to learn scientific communication skills, in an informal environment. TSCBM meetings cycle between Texas A&M University and Health Science Center, University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston. Although casual in organization, the meeting is characterized by talks of very high standards, so much so that many of us feel that it is as useful, diverse, and cutting-edge as any international meeting in the field.

85th Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory Symposium on Quantitative Biology on Biological Timing

We are pleased to host the 85th Cold Spring Harbor Symposium which will focus on Biological Time Keeping. Several previous Cold Spring Harbor Symposia have addressed different aspects of biological rhythms, notably the Symposia on Biological Clocks (1960) and Clocks & Rhythms (2007). The meeting will be held virtually, beginning late morning EST on Tuesday, June 1, and ending late morning EST on Saturday June 5, 2021. The meeting will include 8 oral sessions and one poster session over the 4.5 days (AM sessions start 10am EST / PM sessions start 2pm EST).

5th Asian Forum on Chronobiology and 2021 International Chronobiology School

The 5th Asian Forum on Chronobiology, powered by the Chinese Society for Biological Rhythms (CSBR), Aschoff-Honma Memorial Foundation, and Henan University, will be a virtual & onsite meeting that is taking place in Kaifeng, China. The theme of the 2021 AFC is “Chronobiology: Circadian Rhythms and Environmental Adaptation”. The forum will bring together scientists from the field of Chronobiology in Asia, Europe and North America. The format of the meeting will maximize the researchers’ discussion of the significance and mechanism of temporal and spatial expression of circadian oscillators. The forum will open “Keynote Session”, 15-16 “Symposiums”, including “Aschoff and Honma Memorial Symposium” and “Young PI Symposium”. Topics will include entrainment, molecular mechanisms, hierarchical multioscillator coupling, differentiation, development, metabolism, sleep disorder, biotic and abiotic resistance, and so on.

Society for Research on Biological Rhythms (SRBR)

The SRBR conference is a biennial event gathering hundreds of established researchers, postdoctoral fellows, and students interested in various aspects of biological rhythms. The research presented at the conference touches upon various areas of chronobiology, from basic mechanisms to clinical applications, using a broad range of model organisms. Special events and activities are also designed for trainees and junior investigators.
